Your retreat.
Beautifully documented.
Professional yoga photography woven into your retreat — at no cost to you. Your social media comes alive with professional, authentic content posted live from the retreat. Your participants leave with portraits. You leave with a marketing library.
What I bring to your retreat
I'm a yoga photographer with 20 years of practice and 15 years of teaching. I know how a pose is supposed to feel — and that's what shows up in the images.
When I join a retreat, I integrate fully. I'm there for the morning practice, the excursions, the meals, the moments in between. That immersion is exactly why the photography is different. These aren't images of your retreat taken from the outside. They're images made from inside it.
You're not giving up a spot. You're adding a service your participants will talk about long after they get home.
My income comes from portrait sessions I offer to participants directly. That's the trade — you provide the invitation and the access, I provide the photography. No fees, no revenue split, no complicated arrangements. Just great images for your retreat and a premium experience for your participants.
Event photography
A retreat is more than practice sessions. It's breakfast conversations, cenote swims, dancing after dinner, the look on someone's face when they nail a pose for the first time. I document all of it — the full human experience of being there together. There's a significant difference between a retreat captured by a professional and one captured by participants on iPhones. Your future participants will see it in your marketing.
A photographer. Not a phone
The difference shows everywhere — in how I read a scene, in a composition that stops a scroll, in knowing which moment in a flow is the one worth keeping. In the light I shape when the scene needs it and the natural light I chase when it doesn't. It’s twenty years of photographic judgment — not luck.
20 years inside the practice
I know what a pose feels like from the inside. I know when a student has found something real. That's the moment I'm looking for — not the perfect shape, but the feeling behind it. Your participants will see it when they get their images back.
I went on my first retreat 20 years ago. I know what dropping in feels like.
What everyone receives
Your retreat
A complete event photo library — practice sessions, excursions, candid moments, landscapes, the in-between scenes that make a retreat feel alive. The laughter at breakfast. The cenote. The last evening. Delivered digitally, free to use across your website, social media, and next year's retreat promotion. No licensing fees. Images that show the full experience, not just the yoga.
Your participants
An optional 30-minute portrait session with me — professional images of themselves doing yoga in a place they'll never forget. Shaped light, thoughtfully directed, delivered digitally within two weeks. Most people have never been photographed in their practice by someone who shares it. Booked directly with me — no coordination required from you. To be witnessed fully alive in something they love. The images carry that.
Your social media
Throughout the retreat I post to @omlightphotography regularly — practice sessions, excursion moments, portraits as they're delivered — tagging your retreat handle each time. Professional images going out live from inside the experience. Not a recap. Not the retreat leader's iPhone. When participants share their own portraits and tag you too, the result is a sustained wave of authentic content from multiple accounts — during the retreat and long after it ends.
How it works
I cover my own travel and accommodation — portrait sessions with participants are how I make the economics work, and that arrangement means the event photography costs you nothing.
Before the retreat, we connect by video (or in person if logistics allow) so I understand your schedule, your locations, and your vision for the week. I provide drop in materials for including in your marketing materials if you’d like, and a short participant announcement — text and images for your welcome email or pre-retreat packet. It introduces the portrait option, what's included, and how to book. Participants who are interested arrive knowing it's available, having thought about what they want to wear, and ready to make the most of it. The difference between a participant who heard about portraits on arrival and one who's been looking forward to it for two weeks shows in the images.
During the retreat, I photograph selectively. If you practice twice daily, I might shoot two or three sessions and attend the rest as a student. The camera is present when it adds something — and disappears when it doesn't. That's how the candid moments happen. Independently of your classes and activities, I do private portrait sessions with those that want. The fee for this goes entirely to me.
Afterward, you receive a curated, high-resolution image library. Your participants receive their portrait sessions. No complicated handoffs. No licensing paperwork.
Some organizers prefer a simpler arrangement — a flat fee that covers my participation and includes portraits for all participants. If that fits your retreat better, let's talk about it.
About Me
I’ve practiced yoga for over twenty years and have been teaching for fifteen. I’m based in Boulder, Colorado, and have photographed retreats in Tulum, Mexico and Nosara, Costa Rica. I know what it means to drop into a retreat as a participant — the disorientation of the first morning, the way something opens by day three, the friendships that form over meals. That's the experience I bring to the camera. And to the mat, every morning alongside your students.
Are you a retreat participant?
If you've seen my work and want me at your next retreat, mention it to your organizer — or send them this page. I'm also happy to reach out to them directly on your behalf.
A retreat is one of the best moments to have professional images made of your practice. You're immersed. You're present. You're somewhere extraordinary. The images carry all of it.
Let's talk about your retreat
Tell me where you're going and when. I'll tell you whether it's a fit and what the arrangement looks like. No complicated proposals — just a conversation.
