What is an Instagram Class?
An Instagram Class is one of your regular yoga classes with one addition — a professional photographer in the room, capturing your students in their practice. Students attend free. They leave with beautiful, professional images of themselves doing yoga. Your studio walks away with a library of authentic marketing photography, and your students become your most enthusiastic social media ambassadors. Because it’s free, students can bring their friends who are intrigued with being photographed and are potential new students.
It costs your studio nothing except a time slot and a teacher.

Your Studio
A full set of professionally produced images, delivered digitally and free to use across your website, Instagram, newsletters, and printed materials. No licensing fees. Authentic photography of real students in your actual space — worth more than any stock image.
Your Students
Professional yoga portraits, free of charge. For most people, being beautifully photographed in their practice is a rare and meaningful experience. Students consistently leave energized and connected — to their practice, to each other, and to your studio.
Your Social Media
Students receive their images watermarked with your studio handle. When they post — and they do — your studio gets tagged in authentic, professional content from real community members. Not stock. Not staged. A coordinated moment of organic content hitting Instagram from multiple accounts at once, all pointing back to you.
How it works
I've been photographing yoga classes for twenty years. I know how to get out of the way of the yoga so students can drop into their breath and the present moment. That's when the real magic happen.
Before the class, I visit your studio to assess the light and plan the time of day and my positioning. Every space is different, and understanding the light before the session is key to what I deliver. I consult with your instructor to advise on sequence construction — drawing on my years of experience to help shape a class that flows and photographs beautifully.
Day of, at checkin I capture a signup photo of each student and their IG handle. During class, students move through a sequence designed to be both a genuine yoga experience first, and visually extraordinary second; it’s key that students drop in. I work quietly around the room, unobtrusive but thorough, capturing the poses, the mood, the light.
Afterward, I process and edit the images. Students receive their photos watermarked with both your studio's name and @omlightphotography — free to download and share. Your studio receives the full set for marketing use, with no licensing fees or restrictions. Typically the studio puts a photo release either in the signup form or on the door of the room so the images are all free use. Students are here because they want to be photographed, so this is never an issue. Here is an example of the delivered photos of an Instagram class.
The simple step of photographing each student with their handle makes accurate tagging possible in post-production — in the Instagram posts after the class, every student gets their images tagged directly, not just posted and hoped for. I'll split the Instagram into several posts based the size of the class; You participate with your socials as you have bandwidth. The result is a coordinated wave of authentic, tagged content hitting Instagram from multiple accounts at once, all pointing back to your studio.

About me
I have practiced yoga for over twenty years and have been teaching for fifteen. I am based in Boulder, Colorado and work with studios throughout the Boulder and Denver area as well as nation-wide. As both a longtime practitioner and an experienced photographer, I bring something unique to this work — I understand the rhythm and intention of a yoga class from the inside, and my sequence advice reflects that. My photography captures the feeling of being in a pose, not just the shape of it.
