Yoga seen from the inside
The photography and teaching of Jim Campbell
I've practiced yoga for over twenty years. I've been photographing and teaching for fifteen. When I make images of yoga, I'm not observing from the outside — I know what it feels like to inhabit a pose, to find the breath in a difficult moment, to drop into a class, to arrive somewhere unexpected in savasana. That's what I'm looking for when I shoot yoga.
Not the shape of the pose. The feeling inside it.
Portrait Sessions
For the student
With twenty years of practice, I know what yoga feels like from the inside — and that's what I capture. Most clients are surprised by what comes back. To be witnessed, fully alive in something you love. It shows. Studio, nature, or fine art.
Ways to work with me
Instagram Class
For the studio
I come to your studio, photograph a regular class, and your students leave with professional images of themselves doing yoga — free. Studios get marketing content. Students get a memory. Some book a portrait session.
Planning a yoga retreat? I travel.
The portfolio
Twenty years of yoga photography — studio, class, underwater, aerial, urban, and fabric.
Men’s 101 Workshop
For the man
A six-week workshop of yoga built for how men actually move and feel. Physically demanding, intelligently structured, and taught at studios throughout Boulder and Denver. For skeptics, beginners, and men who want to go deeper.
